The Role of Education in the Development of Information Society

Fundamental factor of the information society’s development is the quality of human capitaland the computerization of learning process. The author has emphasized the different meaningsof information society as well as and the objectives of its development in Poland. Then theauthor indicated the differentiation of European countries in terms of an access to the Internetand in numbers of the informatics schools graduates. The author points, out that not only theadvancement in the area of the school informatics endowment and access to Internet areimportant, but also the improvement in the ability to operate the electronic media in order toselect and to use the dispersed information. The development of various forms of lifelonglearning can be useful in the creation of information society.References
