This work aims to explain the importance of human beings as a subject in socio -economic activity, impacting the direction of community development. In particular, the widespread model of human beings in the subject literature, based on the concept of two modern philosophers, Adam Smith and Frederick W. Taylor, has been presented. To illustrate the theoretical explanation, examples of three communities designed on the foundation of the mentioned concept have been provided (Detroit, Fordlandia and Empire). The importance of cooperation between specific people in socio -economic activities, creators of theoretical concepts, and leaders and subordinates has been explained. Finally, a realistic approach to the subjectivity of human beings has been presented, considering the capability of using intellectual and volitional powers and actual contributions to socio -economic growth or decline through their decisions, choices, and actions.
